- Principal author of “Energy from Forests” a Hawkins Wright Multi Client study evaluating the opportunities and threats to the North American and European Forest Based Industries as a result of the convergence of energy and fibre values (Published October 2008)
- Determining the feasibility of developing fast growing Eucalyptus plantations, Short rotation Willow crops and Jatropha plantations in Sub - Saharan Africa for a European based financial Institution
- Advising on suitable Business model and funding strategy for a $150 Million US East Coast Pellet project aimed at serving industrial and commercial heat markets in US including raw material procurement strategy
- Advising Brazilian pellet producer on EU marketing strategy
- Advising EU utilities and large Industrial Biomass importers on global feedstock sourcing strategies including:
- Forest Biomass resource assessment
- Secondary and tertiary processing residue resource evaluation
- Developing supply cost curves, current and 10 projection
- Developing technology options for repositioning the Forest products industry in the Atlantic Region (Maine Nova Scotia and New Brunswick) as part of PWC team
Forest products sector -
- NZTE Leading formulation of Company and Industry development strategies (including integrating bio energy options) and facilitating business planting and international JV's to execute strategies
- H&IE Generating regional forest industry development options inclusing facilitating the “Planting” of a new Business to manufacture zero carbon homes from low grade Scottish grown timber using enviro friendly solid wood wall systems
- Various Investors (Governments, Institutions, Private and Public companies)- Forest Resource assessments, valuation and disposal options analysis (NZ, Australia, RSA, Sweden, US South)
- Resourcing a plantation development company to plant 50000 hectares in SE Asia
- Advised major New Zealand multi-national on unbundling of a group of timber assets and a disposal strategy for their forestry and wood processing businesses in NZ and Argentina (c200K Ha of plantations)
